FACE THE WOLVES EPK

  • Ethereal yet feral, Face The Wolves are a female-fronted electronic metalcore band emerging from the Guildford scene. Sonically comparable to the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Architects and Sleep Token, they combine an expanse of synthesisers and textures with throbbing riffs and blast beats to concoct killer tracks.

Compositionally, the forefront of Face The Wolves’ sound has been cultivated by Serena Davidson; fronting the band as lead guitarist, vocalist and producer, she exudes the quintessential aura of a modern rock chic. Her overtly assertive stance and mesmerising tone contrasted with primal screaming paves the way for a brutal show.

Formed in 2020, the three-piece discuss the angst, crisis and confusion of being a teenager in 2022 in their lyrics; ‘Face The Wolves in itself is a play on the way that society as a whole will ‘chew you up and spit you out’.

With plans to release numerous singles towards their Debut EP ‘In A Dark Place’ in the upcoming months, Face The Wolves are certainly a band to keep your eye on…

The majority of their songs are produced in a DIY style; Serena recorded vocals, guitar, bass and synths through her laptop and the three-piece headed to Sunrise Sound Studio in Andover to track drums. Producer Adam Cox created the final mix and master, of which truly brought all elements of the tracks together into what can be heard today.

    ARCHANGEL

Composed by Serena who fronts the band, ‘Archangel’ is lyrically rooted around the emotional turmoil that the band and society as a whole were subjected to over the course of the past few years. Within the turbulence of lockdown and feeling misplaced as teenagers themselves in a world spiralling out of control, the band found a strange tranquility through producing songs towards their Debut EP ‘In A Dark Place’.

The lyrics ‘The devil told me to jump on the way home’ are in essence a very personal and sinister take on the thoughts plaguing the minds of youths when left to their own devices.

    OXYGEN

Composed by Serena who fronts the band, ‘Oxygen’ is lyrically rooted around how we all put on our ‘brave faces’, concealing the darker aspects of ourselves, and the struggle of losing the people that you choose to show the truest form of yourself to. Within the turbulence of lockdown and feeling misplaced as teenagers themselves in a world spiralling out of control, the band found a strange tranquility through producing songs towards their Debut EP ‘In A Dark Place’.

The lyrics ‘it’s ironic how we brandish these facades, ‘wear our hearts on our sleeves’ then go home to the solace of sequential misery’ reflect the difficulty that individuals face trying to keep their head above the water.

  • The band have been seen to sell out local headline shows, win the ‘Wooden Bridge Battle Of The Bands’, amass a substantial TikTok following of over 40k and secure support sets for bands such as ‘Motorheadache’, ‘South Arcade’ and ‘BEX’.

They are currently in the Semi Finals for M2TM 2022.

Moreover, Serena Davidson (lead guitarist and front-woman) was offered an endorsement by Laney Amplification.

  • Maybe I was in love with the thrill of

Being tied to nothing and no one

But the loneliness creeps up on you

Unapologetically beat myself back and blue

From long nights alone in this hell hole

    To walking alone after you

Been waiting so long for myself to just fall back

    Relapse

    I stand before the angels

Decide my fate my mind’s unstable

    I stand before the angels

The devil told me to jump on the way home

If only I could indulge in the darkness

But no flame burns as much as these scars do

Keep cutting myself until I’m cut off

These voices in my head never cease to relent

From long nights alone in this hell hole

    To walking alone after you

Been waiting so long for myself to just fall back

    Relapse

    I stand before the angels

Decide my fate my minds unstable

    I stand before the angels

The devil told me to jump on the way home

Am I immortal cos it never seems to fucking end

    My brain aches

    Give me a break

    My body’s weak I can’t eat I can’t sleep

    This sickness is undying

    I stand before the angels

Decide my fate my minds unstable

    I stand before the angels

The devil told me to jump on the way home
